MEP Design for Hyderabad High-Rise Buildings
High-rise MEP design begins with a coordinated vertical strategy, not isolated equipment selection. Hyderabad projects require early agreement on floor-to-floor zones, plant locations, risers, pressure zones, electrical rooms, refuge and life-safety interfaces, façade constraints and maintenance routes.
Resolve the vertical strategy early
Water pressure zoning, drainage offsets, electrical distribution, fire-water systems, smoke-control paths and HVAC distribution all compete for limited core and ceiling space. Architecture, structure and MEP teams should test these interfaces during concept and schematic design, before repeated floors make a local conflict a tower-wide problem.
Design for climate and operation
Cooling loads should reflect Hyderabad weather, façade performance, diversity, occupancy and actual use. Plant redundancy, metering, controls and access should match the building brief rather than relying on generic assumptions. Equipment replacement routes and safe maintenance clearances must remain visible in coordinated drawings and BIM models.
Connect compliance with buildability
Applicable Indian codes, fire-authority requirements, utility criteria and project specifications must be recorded in a design basis. Calculations, schematics, schedules and coordinated plans should remain traceable through reviews and revisions.
